With the help of a generous grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation, the Transportation Energy Cluster is the latest addition to EPIC's research clusters. This cluster strives to engage the passenger and freight transportation industry to provide solutions in the context of workforce development, research and testing, and infrastructure improvement.
A key feature of the cluster will be the Innovative Rail Technology Park, an initiative to advance clean technology for rail transportation and to apply/support innovative technology for rail operations. The park will provide hands-on education on power sources for rail transportation, providing an innovative rail-focused engineering platform supporting new technology introduction and collaboration toward innovative rail transportation energy implementation.
The Transportation Energy Research Cluster will build collaborations while developing and demonstrating technologies.
Acquainting the public with clean power technologies for rail transportation efficiency as well as climate and pollution advantages.
