About Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe, Germany

Located on the border of France, Karlsruhe provides a strategic position for energy research.

The entire UNC school system and the German state of Baden-Württemberg universities have shared an exchange program since 1996, and EPIC/KIT are just a small but exciting piece of it!

Karlsruhe is a smaller but vital city in Germany. It holds the seat of the two highest courts in Germany – the Federal Constitutional Court and the Federal Court of Justice.

The proximity to all of the other European countries allows students to easily travel about the continent and gain an understanding of many different cultures (in their free time, of course).

Budget airlines make it easy and inexpensive to access even more countries. From the nearby Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Flughafen (airport), airlines like Ryan Air fly to Italy, Greece, Spain, and more!

Karlsruhe is currently building a U-bahn (German metro system), so UNC Charlotte students will feel right at home, thanks to all of the construction. Just like Charlotte, it is a growing metropolis with an exciting future.

Be part of the exchange that connects these two thriving cities by applying to the TE-REx program.
