From 1982 until 2003, he worked for Duke Energy, designing nuclear, hydroelectric, and fossil-powered generating stations for Duke Energy and other utilities and independent power producers. Abstract:  Exhaust gas from diesel engines can be a good source of energy to run a bottoming Rankine cycle to increase the overall efficiency of the engine as it contains a significant portion of input energy. In this research, an automotive diesel engine was tested to estimate the available energy in the exhaust gas. Using optimized heat exchangers additional power was produced.

Moore's Law has been used to describe technological change since the Gordon Moore’s famous paper in 1965. However, Moore’s law leaves only time as the driving force behind rates of technological change, whereas Wright’s Law invokes “learning by doing” as the driver. The difference has enormous implications for modeling and understanding the process of invention and price forecasting.
