EPIC is housed in a 200,000 sq. ft., $76 million building, which was dedicated November, 2012. It contains classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms and research facilities. Research facilities include a clean room, Duke Energy Smart Grid LaboratoryHigh-Bay Structures LaboratoryMaterials Characterization LabAREVA Power Systems Teaching LaboratorySiemens Large Manufacturing LabFlexible Energy LaboratoryPhotovoltaic Research Laboratory, and Renewable Power Laboratory.

EPIC also contains faculty offices for electrical, civil, environmental and computer engineering departments of the William States Lee College of Engineering. Office and research space for industrial partners is also available.
