EPIC is housed in a 200,000 sq. ft., $76 million building, which was dedicated November, 2012. It contains classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms and research facilities. Research facilities include a clean room, Duke Energy Smart Grid Laboratory, High-Bay Structures Laboratory, Materials Characterization Lab, AREVA Power Systems Teaching Laboratory, Siemens Large Manufacturing Lab, Flexible Energy Laboratory, Photovoltaic Research Laboratory, and Renewable Power Laboratory.
EPIC also contains faculty offices for electrical, civil, environmental and computer engineering departments of the William States Lee College of Engineering. Office and research space for industrial partners is also available.
